The Bistro (Java Jitters)

by Lisa Shannon

Things have been changing around the little bistro lately. Now under new ownership, the place has taken on a whole new charm. Teresa Hutt, the new proprietress, has been dedicating time and energy with the assistance of her team—Ulises and Fernando—to make it even more welcoming than it was before. "We're working on a lot of new things here," says Teresa.

The patio is comfortable for dining or just relaxing while surfing the Internet, and this time of year, the weather can't be beat for outside dining. Your pet is welcome to sit with you on the patio, a relief for many dog lovers here in San Felipe who don't leave home without their four-legged friends. In addition to specials, including the incredible Homemade Biscuits & Sausage Gravy Two-Egg Breakfast, The Bistro serves up true American-style comfort foods, like Grade A, USDA beef hamburgers, toasted subs, sandwiches and great appetizers! They also offer a 10 percent senior discount on Saturday and Sunday. December will feature Fruit Crisp with Ice Cream, a decadent dessert, as well as soft-serve ice cream cones. Teresa tells us there will be many new announcements to come, so we encourage everyone to stop in, say hello and enjoy a great cup of gourmet coffee.

The Bistro is located north of town on Hwy 5, Km 181.5, next to San Felipe Storage. They are open Thursday through Tuesday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. (closed Wednesdays).
