23rd Annual Tecate Score San Felipe 250 Desert Racem Round 2 Of The Five-Race 2009 Score Desert Series March 13-15, 2009 San Felipe-Baja California, Mexico (120 Miles South Of U.S./Mexico Border) Over 200 Entries-17 States, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Mexico, Philippines, Puerto Rico) Course: total mileage: 232.4 miles (5 checkpoints). The course is a long, fairly narrow loop extending north of San Felipe up to and along highway 3 and south almost to puertecitos on the east side adjacent to the sea of cortez. Course will start in the shadow of the famed san felipe arches and finish just south of there adjacent to the tecate building. Heading northwest of town, it runs in a counterclockwise direction. Course runs north, northwest and south of town. The challenging course runs through three major washes in the area: matomi, azufre and huatomote, with silt, jagged rocks, and narrow passes between walls of rock, and is considered to be ‘the best of baja.’ Checkpoints: ck1-race mile 61.58; ck2-rm 122.30; ck3-rm 165.21, ck4-rm 192.78; ck5-rm 213.80 Pre/post race schedule: friday, march 13--(all times pst) Racer registration, bandidos cantina, 8:30a.m.-4:30p.m. Media registration, bandidos cantina, 9a.m.-5p.m. Contingency row, downtown on the malecon, 10a.m.-5p.m. Safety inspection, downtown on the malecon, 10a.m.-6p.m. Mandatory driver/rider meeting, bandidos cantina, 7p.m. Saturday, march 14--(all times pst) Posting of unofficial results-s/f line (los arcos hotel)-throughout the day Competition review board-los arcos hotel, 8 p.m. Sunday, march 15--(all times pst) Awards celebration, downtown on the malecon, 10 a.m.
