Nov. 28th: The San Javier Pilgrimage (Loreto)

Every year there is a walk to San Javier.  It will be held this coming Saturday November 28th.  Everyone will meet at the Mision at 4:30 a.m. People will carpool to Las Parras to park and walk to San Javier from there.  The cost is 60.00 pesos which includes lunch up in San Javier, delicious birria, rice and beans.  You can sign up only this coming Monday and Tuesday at the church office from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; only these days.  T-shirts will be available also at the office, the price is 100.00 pesos.

This year the priest in charge insist that it shouldn't be called the "walk to San Javier", because people can take a simple walk every day but this has a religious meaning; you offer the walk to the saint, San Javier, and pray or ask for a miracle. That's why he is so popular in the state.  People from far away ranches will come, cowboys from the sierra and Constitucion will ride to come and visit San Javier either to ask or say thank you for the miracle...

So this will be called "The San Javier Pilgrimage", because faith is involved. San Javier day is on December the 3rd, you will hear about the fiesta and popular singers to perform there.
