LORETO - Art Exposition: The Voices of Women in Loreto

Art Exposition: The Voices of Women in Loreto
Submitted by Jeannine Perez

March 8th is International Women’s Day. On Saturday, March 13th, beginning at 11 a.m., Loreto women will celebrate the achievements of women everywhere.  They will do so by giving expression to their own emotions: their joys, fears, achievements and struggles, in an art exposition entitled…”Canto de Sirena Entre Color y Letros,”.

Displays of paintings and writings, sketches and poetry done by women, will be exhibited in the Loreto Museum Courtyard. Snacks and wine will make this a true celebration of what it means to be a woman today.

It has been said that men write the history, but it is women who live and feel it. The ideas for this exposition were brainstormed and set into motion by Lizette Inzunza and Ileana Hernandez. Time, effort, and expenses for the exhibition; including materials, printing of posters, and the refreshments will come from women who are eager to express their thoughts through art and words.

The voice of Loreto women….This is our time in history…hear us.
