ENSENADA - Ensenada Sister City Art Trip

Riviera Del Pacifico Cultural Center
Enjoy sister city artists working at the Riviera Center
June 26-27-28-2010, 11:00am to 4:00pm Free

The Riverside Community Arts Association (RCAA) has been dedicated to building strong cultural ties between Ensenada, Mexico and Riverside, California for the last two years. The RCAA working in partnership with Casa de la Cultura was honored last year with a prestigious international award for best cultural exchange for cities with 100,000 to 300,000 populations. Sister Cities International gave the award for our adult and children’s artists displays in both cities.

In early June the RCAA will be delivering donations of books and art supplies for students at Casa de la Cultura and local schools. The donations have come from local artists and the public. This is the second time the RCAA has collected donations for the children of Ensenada in the last two years. Students from our local high school, Santiago High School, developed the project. Currently there is an exhibit at Casa de la Cultura of works from young students from Riverside. Early this year we exhibited works by young students from
Ensenada at our gallery in Riverside.

On Sunday June 27, artists and guests from Ensenada’s sister city, Riverside, California will spend the day painting and art making at the incredible Riviera Center and Gardens. We have invited young art students from our sister arts organization, Casa de la Cultura to paint with us. Other artists from Ensenada are welcome to be part of this creative day as well. Casa de la Cultura is also located in the Riviera Center. The citizens of Ensenada will be invited to come to share in the experience. We hope to have at least ten artists working for the day at the Riviera Center.
