PUERTO NUEVO - Sisters of Mercy Posada 2010

SISTER CLARE BRINGS CHRISTMAS
TO THE CHILDREN OF ROSARITO
CAN YOU HELP?
The Sisters of Mercy have ministered in Mexico since 1980. Initially, Ruth Hotz rsm and Lucina Kozeny rsm worked with economically poor families in Rosarito, Baja California Norte, in providing housing, food, clothing, and household items. They have returned to Nebraska (USA) for health reasons, and Clare Manhart rsm has continued this ministry of "Project Love, Hope, Trust".
A long standing tradition is the Sisters of Mercy Annual Christmas Posada, held in mid December at the Sisters of Mercy compound for the 2,000+ children who line up before 6:00 a.m. to receive a gift along with fruit and candy.
All of this would not be possible without the generosity of the expatriate community and support of local businesses in Rosarito.
The 2010 Annual Toy Drive will be held at Splash Restaurant, December 12 at 1-5 pm, hosted by Ann Platenberg and Chuck Drouet. Please bring your unwrapped toys to this event, or drop them off at Rene's Mailroom, Cruz Roja Thrift Store or Splash Restaurant, located at km 52, 3 miles south of Puerto Nuevo.
