5th Annual Baja Blues Fest

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE  JUNE 1, 2016
5th Annual Baja Blues Fest: A Joyous Celebration That Lifts The Spirits Of Needy Kids is Aug. 19-21 At Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---A seaside music festival that promotes blues music while helping needy kids and audiences lose their blues will celebrate its fifth year this August at the Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort.

"This year's event looks to be the largest and most successful yet," said Jackie Alameda, president of the Baja Blues Fest. It is headlined by Coco Montoya and John Nemeth and again hosted by San Diego's Backwater Blues Band.

Numerous other world-class blues artists from both sides of the border will perform at the three-day festival, including Deanna Bogart, Bayou Brothers with Sue Palmer, Chris James and Patrick Rynn, JL Blues and the Baja All Stars, plus Mark "LA" Smith.

Further information on the performers and the varied styles of blues they bring to the stage is at www.bajabluesfest.org.

The Fifth Annual Baja Blues Fest will also feature dancing, food, prizes and booths spotlighting local artists and craftsmen. Its motto is Helping Kids with "The Blues" --- but it's a joyous seaside event for performers and audiences too.

It will be held Aug. 19 through 21 in an oceanfront setting at the Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort. Last year's attracted more than 3,000 people and raised $11,000 for Baja charities that help feed and clothe plus provide education and medical care for needy children.

Friday, Aug. 19 from 7 to 11pm will feature a meet-and-greet with festival performers, who also will play in a pro-jam session. On Saturday, Aug. 20 gates open at 10:15am for a day of music and other festivities, under the sun and by the sea. The day's music will conclude about 8pm.

Sunday, Aug. 21 from 1pm to 4pm, local musicians will join festival performers in a jam session.
