The International Mariachi & Folkloric Festival Is Oct. 12-15 at Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort 7th annual edition will be grander than ever ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO---The 7th Annual International Mariachi and Folkloric Festival, one of the largest of its kind in the world, will be held from Oct. 12 to Oct. 15 in the oceanfront gardens of the Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort. From its inception, the event which attracts thousands of global performers, competitors and audiences also has been one of the primary fundraisers for the Rosarito Boys & Girls Club, which receives all profits.

“With wonderful local and international support, the festival has continued to grow each year,” said festival founder and organizer Gil Sperry, a Rosarito resident and mariachi author. “This year looks to be no exception.”

Numerous events will comprise the four-day festival (Wednesday through Saturday). They will include street performances, workshops for aspiring artists, competitions, meet-and-greet with the stars, plus many more.

Friday night's opening concert will feature the instrumental, vocal, and dance students who have attended the preceding three-day workshops taught by the award-winning headliners plus performances by specially selected international groups.

 An Extravaganza Concert on the evening of Oct. 15 will feature Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan, chosen as Guadalajara’s best; and the two-time Grammy-Award winning Mariachi Divas, who have highlighted each of the seven festivals.

Also performing will be the multiple award winner of The Mariachi National’s Best Open Category, Mariachi Estrellas de Chula Vista; the Latin Grammy Award nominee, Trio Ellas; and the current winner of The Mariachi National’s Best Solo Vocalist Award, Angel Ng.

Tickets for Saturday night’s Extravaganza range from $25 general admission to $80 for VIP tickets. Prices vary for other festival events and some are free.
