Mexico News Daily | Saturday, January 16, 2016
500 kilos of marijuana seized after tractor-trailer inspected
Earlier this week smugglers were caught using fake carrots. Now it’s fake coconuts.

A tractor-trailer was seized in northern Sonora after authorities received a tip from a private citizen: some of the coconuts in the truck’s cargo were not the real thing.

Members of the Criminal Investigation Agency working out of Nogales stopped the truck on federal highway No. 2 near the U.S. border to inspect its contents.

Good News Mexico's Tourism Industry

Mexico News Daily | Friday, January 15, 2016
Travel awards announced as Mexico gears up for another year of growth. The new year is shaping up to be another very successful one for the tourist industry in Mexico.

The first piece of good news was the official announcement of record visitors to the Caribbean city of Cancún, and México City topping the New York Times’ list of 52 places to visit in 2016. The good news haven’t stopped coming since.

Last September, Tulum, in the state of Quintana Roo, was designated a Magic Town by the Tourism Secretariat, giving it access to funds to improve infrastructure.
